UK - Atchison Topeka, a third-party food logistics specialist, has signed a 3 year contract with chocolate manufacturer Cadbury’s to set up a dedicated nut handling facility.

Scheduled to begin in June, Atchison Topeka will be responsible for decanting nuts into IBC’s (Intermediate Bulk Containers), which will feed directly on to the Cadbury production lines 7 days a week.

The company will also control the waste management aspect of the contract which involves the baling and recycling of packaging received.

Atchison Topeka’s Managing Director, Mike Phillips said that: “I am delighted to further our existing relationship with one of the countries leading chocolate manufacturers. This contract supports our desire to move the business forwards into other added value services.”

The deal is another success for Atchison Topeka, who recently won a contract with biscuit makers McVities.
