Asian Freight Forwarding Firm Continues to Expand Throughout Europe

UK – POLAND – Hong Kong based service provider Kerry Logistics has announced a couple of developments in its European portfolio. Firstly, the company has been awarded a contract by Lakeland to be its logistics service provider which will see the freight group provide the homeware retailer with global forwarding services including ocean freight and supply chain solutions, as well as buyer's consolidation services.

Kerry Logistics will also assist the UK-based retailer with purchase order management and visibility solutions via the Virtual Buying Office (VBO), a web-platform designed to enhance efficiency and visibility along the supply chain. Kerry says its strong distribution network in China will also play a key role in driving international growth for the retailer, which recently announced its expansion into the Australian market with the launch of 13 new locations. Emma Rowlands, Sales Director of Kerry Logistics (UK) said:

Lakeland currently has 69 stores nationwide in the UK, a further 16 stores trading successfully in the Middle East, a further three in India, 13 in Australia, and 2013 saw the Lakeland brand launch in Germany.

Meanwhile in Poland, Kerry is opening a new office in Warsaw, Poland, with the intention of cementing the company’s position in Eastern Europe. The new team will be headed by Diana Sokół, Managing Director of Poland, who was previously General Director Poland at C.Spaarmann Logistics GmbH based in Warsaw.

Sokół, who holds joint Polish and German citizenship, and has extensive know-how in East-West trade, will head a team of six, supporting customers with comprehensive international freight forwarding solutions comprising of ocean, air, and road freight services as well as Customs brokerage.
