LATEST UPDATE HERE

UK-NATS has announced that the earliest that UK airspace will be open for operations will be 0100 tomorrow (Sunday). This applies to all UK airspace with Scotland and Northern Ireland also closing again.

They state that the reason for this is that the volcanic ash cloud is moving and changing shape in unpredictable ways and as such risk to aircraft is still to great. There is also no guarantee that there will not continue to be greater delays.

NATS will issue fresh advice at 1500 BST.

Irish airspace is also to reclose until at least 1800 tonight.
