UK – SWITZERLAND – Freight forwarding groups often need to employ specialist divisions to ensure the correct carriage of delicate and expensive items and Anglo Pacific’s Fine Art shipping division recently transported Swiss born artist Christina Niederberger artwork from her London base to a gallery in Switzerland, for her solo exhibition which take place in December. Niederberger first commissioned Anglo Pacific’s services ten years ago and the company has since transported all of her work. Ms Niederberger commented:
“Shipping fragile artwork over long distances from the studio to exhibition venues always creates a lot of additional stress and anxiety. There are often precise deadlines to be met as well as a maze of paperwork for customs clearance – it’s tricky not to start imagining all the things that could go wrong. Thankfully every time I have used Anglo Pacific there has never been a heart-stopping moment or a glitch.“
Terry Horsnell, Anglo Pacific’s Fine Art Consultant, commented saying that offering value for money and professionalism are one thing, but understanding the nerve-wracking experience that an artist goes through is another, and that’s what the company prides itself on. He pointed out that there was no substitute for experience and that Anglo Pacific prides itself on the wrapping, storage and transport of anything from rare antiques to entire theatre sets even whilst working within tight deadlines.
Christina Niederberger is exhibiting in December at the Centre PasquArt, Biel, Switzerland, and then 12 of her paintings will be shown at DuflonRacz Gallery in Bern, Switzerland, from 11 January 2013.
