UK – The triennial International Materials Handling Exhibition to be held at the NEC Birmingham in November will be of interest to many freight professionals as it is sure to play host to various innovations to accelerate and improve the way cargo, and various supply chain products, are handled. Some ideas that seem revolutionary however may not be quite as new as one would imagine.

One such is the articulated fork lift truck concept and this year the expo will see Stand 19 J75 show off products from Flexi Narrow Aisle which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the development of the Flexi concept this year. The Flexi articulated truck has gone on to be the most popular articulated forklift truck in Europe, selling over 4000 unit’s world wide.

Although Flexi Narrow Aisle’s clients are involved in the storage and handling of many different products – from foodstuffs to engine parts – they all share at least one common aim: the need to maximize efficiency within their storage operation by making the most of the space that is available.

Flexi claim they can save warehouse operators at least 30 per cent of their storage costs by operating in aisles as narrow as 1.6 metres and the truck’s ability to articulate to 220 degrees with an effective lift height of over 12 metres make this worthy of consideration for anyone wishing to reduce storage costs or where space is at a premium.
