FRANCE – Freight forwarding and automotive logistics provider Gefco has announced Anne Lambusson as its new Executive Vice President in charge of relations with the PSA Group (Peugot/Citroen). She will be replacing Paul-Henri Fréret in the PSA Contract Division Management as he will be taking over the ASOR area Management (East Asia) as Executive Vice President.

UK – Andrew Stevens has joined the Board of Pattonair as a Non-Executive Director.

CANADA – Canadian Pacific Railway has appointed Keith Creel as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2017. Currently President and Chief Operating Officer, Creel will take over from Hunter Harrison, whose services will be retained beyond retirement for a three year term in a consultant role.

Additionally, CP announced the resignation of Anthony Melman from the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Melman, a founding partner of Onex Corp, felt that it was in his best interests for now to resign from the Board, so that he can assess his legal options following a recent Tax Court of Canada decision. Melman has been found guilty in the largest gross negligence tax case in Canada for omitting nearly C$19 million in dividends. Melman stated that he did not want that matter to become a distraction to CP's ongoing mission to be the best run and safest railway in North America.

US – Volvo Trucks North America appointed Jeff Lester Senior Vice President of Sales Effective August 1.

US – FleetNet America, an ArcBest company, has announced Don Doty as Vice President of Vendor Relations. Doty will be responsible for planning, development and management of FleetNet America’s service provider network, fostering a partnership environment with tow companies, tire providers, truck repair shops and other heavy-vehicle repair services within the FleetNet service provider network.

US – Michael Colbruno, a Managing Partner with the Milo Group of California, has been elected President of the Port of Oakland’s Board of Port Commissioners. The former two-term member and past chair of the Oakland Planning Commission was chosen unanimously by the seven-member Board. He succeeds Commissioner Earl Hamlin who concludes his one-year tenure as President but remains on the Board. The Board also elected Ces Butner First Vice President and Joan Story Second Vice President.

US – Daniel Maffei was sworn-in on July 18, as a Commissioner of the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), for a term expiring June 30, 2017. Commissioner Maffei worked as an aide to both Members of the House of Representatives and the United States Senate. He later served two non-consecutive terms representing the 24th and 25th Congressional Districts of New York during the 11th (2009-2011) and 113th (2013-2015) Congresses respectively. Prior to entering office at the Federal Maritime Commission, Commissioner Maffei was serving at the Department of Commerce.

US – Having been Acting Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for the last 11 months, Scott Darling has been confirmed to be the next Administrator.

US – Blair Anderson has been confirmed as the Undersecretary for Policy, Department of Transportation.

US – Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx today announced the appointment of 29 new members to the Marine Transportation System National Advisory Committee (MTSNAC). MTSNAC is comprised of 40 members from commercial transportation firms, shipbuilding, repair and recycling companies, trade associations, state and local entities, labour organisations, academics and environmental groups. Committee members serve 2-year terms, with no more than two consecutive term reappointments, and approximately one-third of members' terms of office expire every 2 years. The new members are:
