SWITZERLAND – This week’s appointments and staff moves begins in the freight forwarding and logistics sector with the news that, as of 1 June, Thorsten Meincke will return to Kuehne + Nagel as Senior Vice President of Global Seafreight. Meincke previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Kuehne + Nagel before leaving the company to take up a role on the Management Board at another Swiss forwarding company. The Board of Directors of Kuehne + Nagel has also said that for internal company reason, it will withdraw its proposal to elect Gerard van Kesteren to the Board of Directors at the AGM.

SPAIN – Ramón Barrutia Urreta has joined AR Racking as the new Director of Project Management and Delivery.

FRANCE – THE NETHERLANDS – The Geodis Group has announced the appointment of Alain Guyard as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Management Board. He replaces Laurent Dumas who is leaving the group. Ashwani Nath has also been named Global Vertical Market Director for Geodis Wilson’s Fashion & Lifestyle, Retail segments. He will be based in Amsterdam.

THE NETHERLANDS – TNT Express Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Board, Bernard Bot, has announced that he will leave the company. Maarten Jan de Vries has been named as Bot’s successor, subjects to shareholder approval, effective July 1.

UK – Schenker Limited has announced the appointment of Matthias Kraus as its new Airfreight Director with immediate effect.

UK – Yusen Logistics has announced Kevin Appleton as its new UK Managing Director, based at its UK headquarters in Northampton.

UK – Coyne Airways has appointed Liana Coyne as Chief Operating Officer (COO) as part of a restructure that sees John Batten, Managing Director, leave the airline.

UK – GEFCO has made two changes to its senior staff at its UK operations with John Stocker appointed Finished Vehicle Logistics Director, and Charlie Weale taking over from Stocker as the company’s new Sales and Marketing Director.

UK – Consolidated Fork Truck Services has promoted Shaun Prendergast to the role of Technical Manager, in charge of the Northern Region.

UK – The Port of London Authority (PLA) has announced the appointment of three new non-Executive Directors. Chief Executive of P&O Ferries, Helen Deeble CBE, Group HR Director and Board Member at WS Atkins, Alun Griffiths, and industry veteran Annette Malm Justad were selected ahead of the departure from the PLA Board later this year of Deputy Chairman, John Mills CBE, who steps down on August 31, and Board Member William Everard CBE, who steps down on May 31. Justad will join the Board on June 1, and Deeble and Griffiths on September 1.

UK – GERMANY – Serge Gregoir has been appointed new country manager of DHL Freight UK. He will steer the Coalville-based business and report directly to Amadou Diallo, CEO of DHL Freight. In his new role, he will relocate to Leicestshire. Thomas Weins take over Gregoir's former position and remain in DHL Freight’s head office in Bonn, Germany.

GIBRALTAR – DUBAI – Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has announced the promotion of Gavin Griffin to the role of Vice President Sales for Europe & North Africa, and the appointment of Chris Crookal as Vice President, Liner. Griffin will remain based at the company’s offices in Gibraltar and now reports to regional EVP Simon Edsall. Crookal will be based in Dubai and reports to Eddie Filus, SVP Liner.

SINGAPORE – Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) has strengthened its Singapore-based management team with the appointments of Hege Solstad as Regional Director of WSS Asia Pacific, and Harald Lundestad as General Manager for WSS Singapore.

AUSTRALIA – Scott Henderson has been appointed Managing Director of GAC Australia following the retirement of Phil Coolican after seven years with the company and more than four decades in the shipping industry.

US – RoadOne IntermodaLogistics has announced the promotions of Jessica Cohen and Kendall Kellaway to Director of Business Development positions. Cohen will be responsible for sales and customer engagement in the Midwest and Kellaway will take over the reins in the Northeast.

LIBERIA – The National Transit Authority has announced the appointments of are Hon. Tarnue Jeke as Managing Director and Mr Prince Sumo Jaiblai, who takes over from Jeke as Deputy Managing Director for Administration. Jeke succeeds Karmo Ville who moved to the National Oil Company (NOCAL).
