GERMANY – Hamburg Süd has announced that Frank Smet, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will be going into retirement at the end of March after roughly 27 years with the company. Smet, who has been working in the shipping industry for over 40 years, including in Brazil, Chile, Australia and Hong Kong, has been a member of Hamburg Süd’s Management Board since 2012.

In the future, CEO Dr. Arnt Vespermann will also be responsible for the customer relations.

SWEDEN – Envirotainer has announced Eddy Cojulun as its new Chief Sales Officer. Cojulun reports directly to CEO Michael Berg, and is part of the Envirotainer Management Team. Prior to joining Envirotainer, Cojulun held multiple senior sales positions within telecom giant Ericsson.

UK – Anoop Kang, former Chief Financial Officer at Eddie Stobart Logistics, has resigned from the Board of Greenwhitestar Acquisitions, a company in which Eddie Stobart Logistics has a 49% indirect holding.

Kang left Stobart in December 2019, having joined in April 2019, in order to act as CFO for Greenwhitestar. He will leave the company in mid-April after a handover period.

UK – Gary Dawson, AV Dawson Managing Director and Garry O’Malley, Redcar Bulk Terminal (RBT) Managing Director have been named to take on the Chair and Vice Chair roles for the industry body, the Tees and Hartlepool Port Users Association (THPUA).

Dawson takes over the reins from former Chair, Stuart Brookes, ConocoPhillips, whom he has supported as Vice Chair for the last two years.

UK – The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) has appointed Pat O’Leary as its first dedicated Head of Technology. Formerly Managing Director of Liebherr’s Maritime Cranes division, O’Leary officially became PEMA's Head of Technology on January 1.

UK – Europa Worldwide Group has appointed Chris Mitchell to the role of Head of IT. Mitchell is responsible for Europa’s IT help desk and infrastructure teams.

US – CH Robinson has announced Tim Gagnon Vice President of Analytics and Data Science at CH Robinson, to lead the company’s newly formed industry innovation incubator, CH Robinson Labs and its dedicated data science teams in Minneapolis; Chicago; Silicon Valley; and Warsaw, Poland.
