AUSTRIA – Kuehne + Nagel has announced the appointment of Dr. Detlef Trefzger as new member of the Management Board from the beginning of March taking over the global responsibility for the Contract Logistics business unit from which Dirk Reich steps down to be at the Chairman’s disposal for special tasks until further notice. Until the 1st March 2013, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kuehne + Nagel, Reinhard Lange, will assume responsibility for Contract Logistics.

Dr. Trefzger was member of the Executive Board of Schenker AG, until October 2012. He held worldwide responsibility for the business unit Contract Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and most recently he additionally was in charge of Global Airfreight and Global Ocean freight.

UK – Associated British Ports (ABP) has announced that CEO Peter Jones will retire at the end of March 2013. He will be succeeded by James Cooper, who has served as a Non Executive Director of ABP since May 2007. Cooper is currently a Director of Infracapital, the European infrastructure fund of M & G Investments, one of the four investors in the Admiral Consortium that acquired ABP in 2006. He will join the team at ABP on the 1st March 2013 and will assume responsibility as CEO from the beginning of April.

UK – Reverend Andrew Wright has been announced as Secretary General at The Mission to Seafarers as of February 2013. The appointment of Rev. Wright follows the death of the former Secretary General, The Rev. Tom Heffer, aged 43, earlier in the year.

UK – Laurence Tanty is to act as European Growth Consultant at Notbox, the multi use packaging concept company, to help spearhead its ‘tremendous potential’ in the market for sustainable and lower cost supply chain packaging solutions. She will work closely with Managing Director, Jonathan Cobb, to promote the company.

RUSSIA – Global air charter specialist Chapman Freeborn has announced two new appointments to senior management with Alexey Zeuv as Commerical Director and Dmitri Kourenkov as General Manager. Both will be based in the company’s new Moscow office.

US – Third-party logistics provider Transportation Insight has announced the appointments of Laura Easley as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chris Baltz as President and CEO. Baltz will take over from founder Paul Thompson, who will continue to provide strategic direction for the organization in his role as Chairman, in addition to handling partnerships and acquisitions.
