UK – AFGHANISTAN – Once again we follow the Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ freighter, IL-76TD-90VD, from the East Midlands to Bagram, Afghanistan, this time delivering its cargo of diesel generators weighing over 35 tonnes. The oversized power generators, designed and manufactured by Dale Power Solutions, were placed in special shipping containers and rolled into the cargo cabin directly from the airside tarmac using a new wheeled loading system designed by Volga-Dnepr.

The flight to Afghanistan was operated for Transact International, a company providing specialist logistics solutions for military and humanitarian cargo. Just a month or so ago we reported how the company worked with the Russian air carrier to transport fire fighting trucks each weighing 30 tonnes, again to Afghanistan. Thomas Anderson, President of Transact International said:

"We greatly appreciate the wonderful and flawless work that Volga-Dnepr has provided to us once again. Our success depends on the quality of service provided by our partners. We are proud to consider Volga-Dnepr our partner and look forward to many more years of partnership."
