NETHERLANDS – WORLDWIDE – The mark of an industry exhibition is often judged by the amount of international exhibitors it attracts and at the 7th annual Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) held on 28 & 29 October at Amsterdam RAI, 124 of the 630 companies showcasing their solutions and services for the offshore oil, gas and renewables industry were from overseas.

This year’s event attracted 13,452 visitors representing 81 nationalities, an increase of 47% compared to last year and required 21,000 square metres of floor space to accommodate it. One hundred and six speakers addressed the crowds in twenty two sessions and the event was opened by a high profile key note speaker, Dr. María de Lourdes Melgar Palacios, Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons of Mexico, who spoke about Mexican energy reform and its emphasis on increasing private sector participation through free competition and the opportunities this creates.

The exhibition took place in four halls and for two days Amsterdam was a meeting place for a host of international clients, OEM’s, EPC companies and suppliers. Their business activities encompass oil and gas exploration and production as well as marine renewable energy development. Meanwhile the Conference offered more speakers, more topics and more sessions. The three panel meetings offered discussions between captains of industry on industry wide strategic challenge, trends in financing and resourcing in the offshore industry.

The eight technical sessions covered a variety of topics ranging from permanent well abandonment to offshore maintenance services and from the latest in offshore vessels to technical and regulatory developments in wave and tidal energy whilst the ‘Masterclasses for Young Professionals’ were well attended and offered a unique setting for exchanging of ideas between CEOs and younger attendees.

During the second day of Offshore Energy, the full day Offshore WIND Installation and Maintenance Conference was held at the same venue. This fifth annual wind conference covered some of the most pressing issues associated with wind industry growth.

Next year Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference will be held on 13 & 14 October 2015. The organisation thanked all exhibitors, visitors, sponsors, partners, speakers and delegates for their support and contribution to this years’ event. In November the website will be updated with information about participating in and visiting Offshore Energy 2015.
