UK – For many freight forwarding and logistics firms the annual Multimodal exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC is the biggest event in their calendar. Everyone from international road haulage operators to equipment suppliers will again flock to the 9th such industry celebration in May 2016 and now nominations for the FTA Multimodal 2016 awards are open, featuring five new categories to reward best in class across all modes.
Innovation, training, and environmental best practice will also be recognised, with the winners announced at a gala dinner on 10 May, the first day of this year’s three day event, and presented with their awards by renowned broadcaster and journalist John Sergeant at the Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham.
Nominations are being sought for air cargo, road freight, sea freight, and rail freight operator of the year, as well as freight forwarder of the year and companies can nominate themselves or their supplier whilst names can also be put forward for the Young Logistics Professional of the Year title. Nominations close on 29 January 2016 with Stage Two going live on February 1 when on-line voting commences based on a short list from the nominations. You can enter your First Stage nominations via this link.
In addition to sponsorship of the awards the Freight Transport association (FTA) has also linked-up with Multimodal to hold the usual series of seminars whilst the FTA’s Award for Contribution to Environmental Sustainability, recognising a team’s work towards reducing carbon footprint, will be revealed at the dinner along with the Multimodal Personality of the Year and the Exhibitor of the Year. Robert Jervis, Multimodal Director commented:
“Multimodal is now in its ninth year and we pride ourselves on providing a platform for the industry to network and grow business. The awards are a reflection of our commitment to showcasing the best that our industry has to offer and we are delighted to be growing the categories. We are excited to be moving to the Vox venue to ensure the evening is an even bigger success than last year.”
