NEW YORK / USA – American Airlines Cargo (AA Cargo) has just opened its newly relocated cargo terminal at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The facility features more than 135,000 square feet of warehouse space and a computerised handling system which allows AA Cargo to manage their freight loads outside of the mainstream cargo handling system, a considerable streamlining measure.

Also included at the new terminal are facilities to deal with perishable goods and live-animal handling.

Dave Brooks, President – American Airlines Cargo, said that: “We are pleased to provide a state-of-the-art cargo terminal at New York JFK – one of our most important hubs.

“Our investment in high-speed handling systems for containerised freight, expanded dock and storage capacity, and a beautiful interior environment is designed to maximize the experience of our valued customers.”

With one of the largest air freight networks in the world, serving some two hundred and fifty cities across more than forty countries globally, the new hub’s abilities sets AA Cargo up well to exploit the post-recession recovery in the airfreight market.
