All Cargo Air Carrier Wins Prestigious Freight Forwarding Award

ANAMA Honours Cargolux Again

ITALY – Cargolux Group, the freight only airline scooped the prestigious Best Cargo Airline prize this month at the annual Associazione Nazionale Agenti e Mediatori d'Affari (ANAMA) Quality Award Italy 2011. Winning the award means ANAMA, the Italian Freight Forwarders Association, has honoured Cargolux for the third time since 2008 when more than 250 invited guests from the Italian forwarding community and members of ANAMA, who cast their vote in a number of categories including their preferred airline, attended the gala dinner in Milan.

Headquartered in Italy, Cargolux is Europe’s largest all-cargo airline and launch customer for the new generation Boeing 747-8 freighter. The company currently operates a modern fleet of 12 Boeing 747-400 freighters and 4 Boeing 747-8 freighters. Cargolux Italia was founded in 2008 and commenced operations in June 2009 from its base near Milan Airport and now employs around forty staff operating seven scheduled flights a week from Milan to Dubai, Hong Kong, Osaka, Almaty, São Paulo and Luxembourg utilizing a Boeing 747-400 freighter, an aircraft that is tailored to the specific needs of freight forwarders.

Upon news that it had received the latest award Frank Reimen, President and CEO of Cargolux, commented:
