Airbus Farms Out Polish Logistics Responsibilities to Swiss Freight Forwarding Group

POLAND –The newly formed aerospace and defence unit of the Airbus group, named simply as Airbus Defence and Space, has selected Swiss based freight forwarder Kuehne + Nagel as exclusive contract logistics provider in Poland. The new four-year contract strengthens Kuehne + Nagel’s global partnership with the Airbus Group after K+N was recently retained as lead logistics provider for the Group, as well as marking a further strategic step into the Polish aerospace and aviation logistics market. Tobias Jerschke, National Manager of Kuehne + Nagel in Poland, said:

In the scope of the contract Kuehne + Nagel manages a warehouse, storing components and spare parts for manufacturing aircrafts. The services provided at the Warsaw site include picking & packing, quality inspections, management of inbound flows from suppliers, order preparation and delivery of parts to the Airbus’ manufacturing. In order to monitor the entire logistics processes during the production Kuehne + Nagel utilises its IT System ‘MyLogSupply’. In addition, value-added services are provided and include cutting to size and handling of parts for aircrafts like the training turboprop ORLIK.
