UK – Ahead of its float on London's Alternative Investment Market, several Directors have several Directors have vacated their roles at Eddie Stobart, including William Stobart, youngest son of Founder Eddie Stobart. Ian Duncan, Saki Riffner, and Ben Whawell as announced are also stepping down. Chief Executive Alex Laffey, CFO Damien Harte, Stephen Harley, and Chairman Philip Swatman have been named to replace the outgoing directors.
UK – Adrian Harris has left his role as Director of Clothing and Home Logistics at Marks and Spencer to become the new Operations Director at Yodel. Paul Burns has been named to replace Harris in the interim
UK – Yodel has named Lucy Robertson as Director of Sort and Transport, reporting to Adrian Harris. Mike Watkins, who joined Yodel in September last year, has been appointed to the newly created role of Director of Operational Planning.
UK – DHL Tradeteam has announced Bill Bacon as its new Managing Director, effective immediately. He most recently held the same role in the Automotive Team at DHL. Bacon will report directly to Paul Dyer, CEO of UK and Ireland, and becomes a member of the UK&I Board. Bacon succeeds James Gill, who became CFO of DHL Supply Chain in the UK and Ireland.
UK – Core Management Logistics has announced Jane Smith to the role of Business Development Manager.
GERMANY – Effective May 1, Josef Moser and Wolfgang Raebiger will become Managing Directors of Aerologic, a joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo. Moser, currently Head of Flight Operations and Crew Training, will take over as Chief Operations Officer and Accountable Manager, whilst Raebiger, Captain and Head of Fleet at Lufthansa Cargo, will assume the role of CFO.
Ulf Weber will leave his position as Managing Director of Aerologic on April 30 to take up the role of CEO at ASL Belgium. Markus Niedermeyer, who was also part of the Management as Authorised Officer, will remain his role as Head of Administration, in order to ensure a smooth transition, before taking over a new management position at Lufthansa Cargo.
US – AirBridgeCargo has promoted Vince Ryan, Cargo Manager for the Americas, to the role of Vice President, North and South America, based in New York.
US – The American Trucking Association (ATA) has named Jeremy Kirkpatrick as its new Director of Strategic Communications.
US – Caterpillar has announced the election of Ray Wilkins to the Board of Directors. Wilkins previously worked as Chief Executive Officer of Diversified Businesses at AT&T.
US – Pangaea Logistics Solutions has announced the retirement of CFO Anthony Laura. He will remain with the company as a Director and continues to be a major shareholder. Gianni Del Signore, who had previously served as Controller, will replace Laura.
CANADA – Air Canada has announced the retirement of David Richardson, Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, effective May 5. Vagn Sørensen, a current member of the Board, will become Chairman assuming he is re-elected as a Director by shareholders at the AGM.
CHILE – Andrés Bianchi has been named to replace Cristián Ureta as CEO of LATAM Cargo. Bianchi, currently Senior Vice President of Sales for North America, Europe, and Asia, will assume his new role from April 15. Ureta leaves the airline after 11 years in the role.
HONG KONG – Seaspan has announced Larry Simkins, currently President, CEO, and Director of the Washington Companies (WashCo), to its Board of Directors to replace Graham Porter, who resigned as a Director to focus on other personal and professional commitments. WashCo, through its affiliates, is the largest shareholder in Seaspan. Additionally, David Sokol is expected to join WashCo’s Board as a Director. Both Simkins and Sokol have been nominated to Seaspan's Board.
AUSTRALIA – Virgin Atlantic Cargo has announced Amanda Matar as Account Manager – Sydney. Matar reports to Pip Palmer, who was promoted to Regional Sales Manager, Australia and New Zealand, last year having previously worked in both customer service and account management roles.
