WORLDWIDE – The week’s round up of staff movements in the freight and logistics business begins with the news that the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has elected Esben Poulsson as its new Chairman, to succeed Masamichi Morooka who has decided to step down after four years in office.

WORLDWIDE – Representatives from Chanel Fragrances and Beauté, Ericsson, and Sandvik Machining Solutions will be joining Chairman Lars Droog, Manager – Supply Chain & General Affairs from Tosoh Corporation on The International Air Cargo Association's (TIACA) Shipper Advisory Committee.

Marine Harvest RMT and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries are also now TIACA members, with shippers from the automotive and flower sectors to be announced soon.

US – Ceva Logistics has named Ching Guo to the position of Senior Vice President, Global Contract Logistics – Technology Operations. Based in Seattle, US, Guo reports to Chief Operating Officer – Contract Logistics, Brett Bissell.

US – XPO Logistics has named Ramon Genemaras to the newly created position of Chief Transformation Officer, effective immediately.

AUSTRALIA – DP World Australia has appointed John Fletcher as a Non-Executive Chairman of its Board, effective since May 19. Fletcher succeeds Holly Koeppel who will continue to serve DP World as a member of the board.

BELGIUM – Kerry Logistics has appointed Daniel Hegwein as the Managing Director for Belgium and the Netherlands. Effective immediately, Hegwein will oversee the company’s activities in the Benelux region from the Kerry Logistics office at Brussels Airport in Zavantem.

GERMANY – Andrea Fuder has been appointed to the Volvo Group Executive Board and as Executive Vice President Group Trucks Purchasing.

UK – Will Whitehorn has become the new President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK (CILT). Whitehorn is Director at Stagecoach Group and has been a Vice President of the Institute for the past four years.

UK – Robert Pieczka has been appointed as the new Managing Director of fuel card provider fuelGenie.

UK – Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has appointed Ian Millen, Chief Operating Officer of Dryad Maritime, as Chair of its Solent Marine and Maritime Steering Group.

CHINA – China Cosco has announced the appointment of Huang Xiaowen to the position of Vice Chairman, effective since May 24. Huang is also Deputy General Manager of the newly merged China COSCO Shipping, and Chairman of COSCO Pacific, a non-wholly owned subsidiary of China COSCO. He also holds positions at CSCL, China Shipping Development, and other branches of China COSCO.

CHINA – China Yuchai International, truck engine manufacturers, has announced the appointment of Dr Thomas Khong Fock Phong as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective since June 1. Phung takes over from Kok Ho Leong, who assumes the CFO role at China Yuchai's parent company, Hong Leong Asia.
