Shipping News Feature DENMARK – GERMANY – Transport and logistics behemoth AP Møller – Mærsk, has announced three new additions to its executive team with Vincent Clerc, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer; Morten Engelstoft, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer APM Terminals; and Søren Toft, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, joining the Executive Board of AP Møller – Mærsk, all effective from today, December 1.

As Maersk gains its final approval for the acquisition of Hamburg Süd, the company also announced the transfer of ownership of the German shipping line with Dr Ottmar Gast retiring as Chairman of the Executive Board of Hamburg Süd, to become Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hamburg Süd. Søren Toft also becomes a Board Member of the Supervisory Board, Dr Arnt Vespermann named as the new CEO of Hamburg Süd.

GERMANY – Volker Hansen will become the new General Manager of Fleetboard from January 1, 2018. In this position he also becomes Head of Digital Solutions & Services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Responsibility for both areas was previously held by Dr Daniela Gerd tom Markotten, who moved on to become General Manager of moovel on November 1.

NETHERLANDS – Allard Castelein will be serving a second four-year term as CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority. Castelein was reappointed by the Municipality of Rotterdam and the Dutch State, the two shareholders of the Port Authority, on the recommendation of the Supervisory Board. His new term will start on 1 January 2018.

FRANCE – Rodolphe Saadé has been given the role of Chairman of the Board at CMA CGM, in addition to his current position as CEO. Saadé, who was appointed CEO in February, will take over from his father, current Chairman and Founder Jacques Saadé.

UK – Parcel carrier Yodel has announced the appointment of Neil Ashworth to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer, with immediate effect. He maintains his position as CollectPlus CEO. He became an executive board member of Yodel in January this year, following the change of CollectPlus’ status from joint venture to wholly owned subsidiary of the carrier. In his new role, Ashworth will oversee Yodel’s sales, client and commercial development teams, including insight, innovation and customer service.

UK – Ian Baulch-Jones has been named as the new non-Executive Director to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), effective since November 28.

US – The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) has announced that Commissioner William Doyle is to exit the Commission on January 3, 2018. Doyle, whose term expires in June 2018, was appointed to the FMC in 2013, by then President Barack Obama. With Doyle's departure, the FMC will be left with two vacancies to fill, after Mario Cordero stepped down earlier this year, in May.

US – Jim Kachidurian has been named Chief Commercial Officer of SeaCube Container Leasing, reporting directly to Robert Sappio, Chief Executive Officer. He began his career in container leasing at Transocean Leasing some 30 years ago and has since held senior sales and marketing roles with companies such as GE Capital, Donlen Corporation, most recently as Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing at Stoughton Trailers.

US – Heidmar has announced James Pippard as its new CEO, overseeing the global footprint of the Company's five Pools, with offices in the US, London, and Singapore. Pippard previously spent 25 years at Teekay Tankers where he held several management roles.

US – The Cubic Corporation has announced the appointment of Kirsten Nielsen as Vice President of Investor Relations. Prior to joining Cubic, Nielsen served as director, investor relations at Arconic (formerly Alcoa), a global engineering and manufacturing firm.

US – The Andersons Inc has announced that Rasesh Shah, current President of the Rail Group, will retire from his role on July 2018. Joseph McNeely will join the company on January 8 as the new President of the Rail Group, with Shah providing assistance during the transition, until he retires.

US – Simplified Logsitics has announced the appointments of Sheila Taylor to the role of Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Strategy, and John Centers as Executive Vice President of Sales. Taylor was previously the Vice President of Logistics for Sam's Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores and also serves at several leading logistics companies including YRC Worldwide, Menlo and Ceva.

Centers has over 21 years' experience in the transportation and logistics industry, including senior Sales Management roles at Pilot Flying J and Hub Group. Both Taylor and Centers will join the Simplified leadership team alongside Sam Avampato, President, and Mark Yeager, CEO.

US – Celadon Group has announced the appointment of Vincent Donargo as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, effective since November 30.

US – Cox Automotive has named Mark Bowser, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective December 4. Bowser will assume leadership of the Finance and Strategy teams, as well as several corporate functions. In addition, Bowser will have responsibility for NextGear Capital.

US – Automotive Events has named Iain Dobson as its new President, effective since November 27. Dobson, who previously served as the company’s Senior Vice President, takes over the role from John Thorne, who still serves as Automotive Events’ CEO.
