UK – For the second year running Midlands-based Global Freight has assisted MSS Bathams Kawasaki with its 2012 sponsorship of the leading British Superbike team and the forwarding group saw newly signed racing legend Michael Rutter not only join the two man line up but take a podium finish with his battling third place in the first race of the season, at Brands Hatch. MSS Bathams Kawasaki team boss, Nick Morgan, said:
“For Global Freight to continue their support for 2012 season in British Superbikes is fantastic news, not just to our team but our other team partners as well. We have used Global Freight for all of our major freight transactions over the 2011 season and have received excellent levels of support and service, which ultimately benefits the whole of our team efforts, from trackside to the huge pressure behind the scenes at our Team HQ in Colchester, Essex."
Riding alongside Michael Rutter in the senior team this year is Peter Hickman, who is stepping up from an impressive 2011 performance in the privateer class. Michael Rutter, nicknamed 'The Blade', is one of the most experienced riders in the BSB field, noted as the master of wet conditions and the record-breaking seven times winner of the prestigious Macau GP road race, including as current champion of that event.
As well as flying around the UK's circuits on the bikes, at speeds reaching up to 200mph, the Global Freight branding will be seen across the team's race trucks, website and press releases, pit garage hoardings and the hospitality unit. The Telford based logistics outfit handle all forms of imports, exports and cross trade contracts and Global Freight managing director, Nicole Howarth, commented:
“We had a great first year as supporters of MSS Kawasaki last year, making new connections and being part of the huge effort that goes into keeping a top-flight racing team on the track. Last year they had brand new model of the Kawasaki ZX-10R bike. With a full season of development and even more winter testing completed everyone has high hopes for the team to be fighting at the front. We will be proud to see Global Freight's name on the fairing and hope to be at as many races as we can to cheer them on.”
