ITALY – Europe - Supply chain and logistics provider SDV has announced acquisition of a majority equity holding in Getco, an Italian multimodal transport operator headquartered in Milan, Italy, resulting in an 80% stake in the company. Getco offers ocean freight consolidation services out of Livorno, Italy, with annual revenues of €15 million and the forwarding of around 8,000 TEU’s. Guido Noé, CEO of Getco said:

“The arrival of SDV will allow the company to support Getco’s growth while offering many possibilities to our employees. I wish to accompany these developments during the next two years in order to achieve this transition.”

Henri Le Gouis, SDV CEO of the Western Europe area confirmed that Getco enhances SDV’s maritime expertise in Italy reinforcing services in the French Overseas Territories and the Middle East. The shareholding follows the buyback of Fast Italy a few months ago and confirms the group’s commitment to achieve better positioning in these main routes out of Italy. This move is a continuation of a major external growth policy aimed at strengthening SDV’s ocean freight offer in all European countries.
