UK – With those that matter in the world of freight girding their loins again for the fifth Multimodal exhibition at the NEC Birmingham, the list of exhibitors as usual is a who’s who of road and rail haulage as well as major port and shipping interests.
This year North West haulage firm France Line International Transport will again be exhibiting and the company’s specialist knowledge of France has allowed the company to become a major player in the industry, handling full and part trailer loads for manufacturers from any sector of industry as well as for other blue-chip freight forwarders following a successful show in 2011.
It will cap an exhilarating 12 months for Manchester-based France Line, which has seen the company expand its operations, take on two new members of staff, increase turnover and profit, secure a number of new contracts and which also saw managing director Marie Boyer named Transport Woman of the Year at the Network of Aspiring Women Awards. The company has more than 30 years of experience helping exporters break into and capitalise on the lucrative overseas market, and more recently has built upon its import operations. Marie Boyer comments:
“It has been an incredible for year France Line and we're looking forward to building on our success by exhibiting at Multimodal. The show allows us to meet face-to-face with hundreds of companies looking for the exact services which we provide. We are looking to work more with cargo owners and there is no better place to make and develop these connections than Multimodal.”
France Line will be exhibiting on The French Pavillon on Stand 875.
Another regular returnee will be the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) which will once again feature prominently with its own Pavilion to showcase the products and services offered by UKWA members and associate members. With over 600 member companies, UKWA is the UK’s leading trade association dedicated to the third party logistics sector and its members control nearly 100 million square feet of warehousing space from some 1300 locations across the UK.
The Pavilion will be centred around a hospitality area where visitors to the show can learn more about the workings of the UKWA and the benefits of joining the association. The facility will also be somewhere where visitors can discuss their logistics or materials handling needs with UKWA Pavilion exhibitors away from the noise and bustle of the exhibition.
Among the third party logistics services specialists exhibiting within the UKWA Pavilion are: Elddis Transport, Potter Group, AV Dawson, Walker Logistics, Anglia Freight, Expect Distribution, PF Whitehead and Simmonds Transport. Several suppliers of equipment and services to the industry will also be present, including: Flexi Narrow Aisle, Redirack, Linde, Atlet and Barloworld.
Meanwhile materials handling solutions specialist Jungheinrich has two stands at the show which it will use to demonstrate examples from its top-selling range of reach trucks together with models from its high level order picker collection. Jungheinrich’s latest version of its ETM/ETV 214/216 reach truck is claimed as the world’s best selling reach truck offering increased mast lifting and lowering speeds together with improved acceleration.
The Jungheinrich order pickers on show at Multimodal are equipped with state-of-the-art RFID technology that enables a warehouse management system to automatically guide the forklift to the right location in the right aisle at all times. Tests have shown that this feature can potentially boost productivity within the warehouse by some 25 per cent.
Jungheinrich UK Ltd offers over 600 different types of pallet trucks, stackers, counterbalance trucks, reach trucks, order pickers, very narrow aisle trucks and stacker cranes, when one considers they also have a comprehensive after sales network and offer rental and financial services, racking systems and warehouse planning one begins to see why they need two stands! The full Jungheinrich range can be seen and discussed at stands 120 and 200 which face each other toward the left side of the hall.
Following Klinge Corporation’s acquisition of Norfrig Equipment, a leading supplier of ultra-low temperature refrigeration and thawing solutions, the company has announced the release of their lower-cost Blast Freezer Container and are to appear at Multimodal to promote this and their other temperature control products.
The Blast Freezer, Model CBU-30, quickly freezes cargo to -60°C (-76°F) and is now available at a reduced price with production of the unit shifting from Kjellerup, Denmark to Klinge Corp headquarters in York, Pennsylvania. By moving production to company headquarters, Klinge Corp can utilize their 31,000 square metre production facility enabling an annual production capacity of several thousand highly specialized transport refrigeration units, freezer units, and generator sets.
Klinge representatives will be on site at Multimodal demonstrating their full range of reefer equipment at stand 924.
