US – For the second year running supply chain provider Ceva Logistics has been awarded Lenovo’s Innovation and Operations Excellence award for North America. Ceva says the award recognises the company’s efforts around freight consolidation and optimising transportation resulting in substantial cost savings for their principals. Mick Jones, Vice President Global Logistics at Lenovo commented:

“Over the past few years, Ceva has continuously provided improvements to our supply chain and 2011 was no different. Together with the Ceva team, we have built a true end to end operation that has ultimately enhanced the overall customer experience. As we expand our global network, we have no doubt that Ceva will provide the innovation we need to support our continued success.”

Chinese headquartered computer giant Lenovo, which took over IBM’s personal computer division and has grown into the second largest PC supplier in the world, has seen spectacular growth since it started as a small electronics resale project in the 1980’s. Ceva executives were quick to express their satisfaction with the award and Jim Weynand, Executive Vice President, Technology sector, Ceva, commented:

“Our collaborative efforts to build a highly efficient supply chain for Lenovo stems from our desire to meet and exceed their expectations. This award is a testament to our continued commitment to Lenovo and the technology industry as a whole. We have watched the company grow significantly in the United States and look forward to supporting those efforts in the future.”
