UK – Another UK based packaging and materials handling supplier has set up a free recycling scheme for customers which have bought any of their range of Plastic Pallets, Plastic Containers, Boxes and Crates. Kinross based Exporta has teamed up with the Plastic Expert recycling company, headquartered in Towcester, Northamptonshire, but with depots dotted around the UK.

Exporta says that 98% of all the plastic pallets it sells are made from recycled material, and in addition, all its plastic products are 100% recyclable and so it decided to go the extra step now by offering a free collection and recycling scheme for end of life plastic products to all its customers.

Exporta claims it has the largest range of Product Handling and Storage Equipment in the UK, including Plastic Pallets, Pallet Boxes, Wooden Pallet Collars, Euro Containers, Shelving & Racking, Load Securing, Workplace Equipment, Handling Equipment and Workwear.

Customer demand was the driver behind the new scheme, although many of the products last up to, and indeed over a decade, the current atmosphere with regard to plastic pollution was a concern for many of the users of packaging who want to disply green credentials to others along the supply chain. Dale Paterson the MD of Exporta commented:

“This is a great initiative that not only helps our customers in a great way but also contributes to reducing plastic waste. A recent survey of our Customers showed a 92% Satisfaction Score which we aim to improve further by introducing great services like this one.”

Plastic Expert, like Exporta, is a privately-owned business with a real passion for diverting plastic scrap from landfill and Plastic Expert Sales Director Ryan Knight observed:

“We are really pleased to be able to support Exporta and their customers with this plastic recycling scheme and look forward to helping them make a difference for many years to come.”
